The Eyston Course
The Eyston Course is a fantastic inland links championship course measuring between 5,536 to 7,319 yards. Located just outside Reading and built to USGA standards the course is in great condition year-round due to excellent drainage.
Having recently undergone a substantial renovation and redesign by renowned Canadian course architect Thomas McBroom the course is now being recognised as one of the best in the South of England. The course portrays a very rustic look yet McBroom has cleverly incorporated modern design to present to all an aesthetically pleasing challenging yet very playable layout, one to be enjoyed time and time again.
The Golf Academy
We are planning to provide a 6 hole Academy Course to further our work in introduce our wonderful game to all. The course will be designed by renowned Canadian course Architect Thomas McBroom and will have USGA standard greens to also offer the experienced golfer the opportunity to enjoy a quick round as well as being a great introduction to golf for novices.
Driving Range
The driving range is located beyond the new 1st green. This facility is over 300 yards long with various distance markers to help with your distance control.
Practice Green
Located on the eastern side of the clubhouse, enjoying a beautiful aspect out over the first hole and eighteenth green, our putting and short game green offers a wonderful opportunity to immerse yourself for an hour improving your short game skills or just to prepare yourself for your forthcoming round.
We also have a specialist short game area, located out on our golf course. Formed around one of the former greens in the old layout this facility offers the chance to practice all elements of your short game from greenside bunker play, to longer bunker shots, flop shots, chip and run and shots from 80 yards and in to the flag. We even have a specially constructed rivetted bunker in preparation for visits to seaside golf courses!
Golf Simulator
We offer Custom-Fit Club fitting for Mizuno golf clubs, using the latest technology with our GC Quad simulator in our performance studio. This technology is also used for tuition by our team of PGA Professionals. The simulator is also available for hire for indoor practice or to play some of the world’s top courses with friends in the comfort of our new clubhouse.
Our Team
The team at The Caversham are dedicated to making your experience with us, either as a member or guest, both enjoyable and memorable. The team comprises of a combination of Reading Golf Club staff who transitioned over and staff from the former Caversham Heath Golf Club.
Our General Manager Gary Stangoe has 25 years of experience in Golf Club management and has been instrumental in leading the project “The Caversham, Home of Reading Golf Club” and the transformation of our facilities here. Our Operations Manager Kerry Ronan has over 20 years of experience in the Food and Beverage industry, specifically within golf clubs. Jon Scoones our Course Manager has been involved from the start of golfing activities on our site and knowledge and expertise, coupled by recent investment in machinery and labour has brought the course many plaudits and attention from the golfing world.
